Shortly after my last post, I had a nice surprise visit from Tom of Germany, who I first hosted about this time last year. He’d just come from some rather lucrative work on a Katherine mango farm and was on his way to Cairns. It’s always exciting when my couchsurfers come back, because once they walk out my door I never know if I’ll see them again. We made a last-minute decision to head out to a Chinese restaurant for dinner with some friends, where Tom shouted me a rather pricey meal. Considering that dinner last time he was at my place was cheap pasta and cheese, I really appreciated the gesture!
